DocUnlocked Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 11, 2026

The DocUnlocked Chrome Extension is operated by Blue Horizon Labs / Blue Horizon Ventures Florida LLC.

Extension purpose

The extension provides a local document-readiness preflight before optional cloud recovery on the DocUnlocked website.

What the extension handles

DataUseStored by extension?
Selected file bytesLimited local reads verify the format signature, size and basic structure after explicit selection. No; never transmitted
Reduced image pixel sampleLocally estimates dimensions and broad contrast signals that may indicate OCR difficulty. No; never transmitted
Page URL, filename, document content, OCR output, checkout URLs, signed URLs, result URLs and payment dataNot collected or transmitted by the extension. No

Permissions

The extension requests no Chrome permissions or host permissions. It has no content scripts, background worker, Chrome storage, cookies, downloads or webRequest access.

Cloud processing

DocUnlocked's website uses cloud processing for document recovery. Upload, the $9 checkout, processing, result status, and downloads happen on the website, not inside the extension. Payment is requested only after the website accepts the file. There is no subscription.

Supported browser uploads are PDF, JPG/JPEG, PNG, and WEBP, up to 200 pages and 200 MB. Results can vary for handwriting, damaged scans, and complex layouts and should be reviewed before reliance.

Data use and retention

Local file data is used only for the visible preflight and discarded when the popup closes. It is not transmitted, sold, used for advertising, profiling or human review.

If the user explicitly continues, only non-sensitive extension version and aggregate preflight outcome categories are sent for product attribution. The document is selected again on the website before any cloud upload.
